The causes of the Arab-Israeli conflict are deep-rooted and are intractable. Some of the causes include the rise of nationalism among both the Jewish and Arab people, resulting in devastation and causalities on both sides, the misguided and contradictory British statements, uncertain Government of the Palestinian mandate between war and also the wave of sympathy for the Jews after the Nazi regime. However, is that the Palestinian people who suffer the real injustice? They have been forced to flee their homeland which they have been occupying for over a thousand years was taken away from them. Without the consent of the Palestinian people and was mostly done by force resulting in the countless of causalities on both ends. This was all achieved during the creation of the state of Israel.
There is no doubt that the countless war crimes committed by the IDF through military action have reflected significantly on the countless humanitarian issues throughout the occupied territories. Till this very day the IDF’s primary goal is to ethically cleanse the Arab population of the Palestinians. Joseph Weitz the director of the Jewish National Land Fund wrote: ‘It must be clear that there is no room for both peoples in this country…The Zionist enterprise so far…has been fine and good in its own time, and could do with ‘land buying’ but this will not bring about the State of Israel; that must come all at once, in the manner of a Salvation; and there is no way besides transferring the Arabs from here to the neighbouring countries, to transfer them all”. This statement proves that this cleansing process has been on the Zionist agenda for quite some time.
Since Israel began its illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza in 1967, more than 650,000 Palestinians have been detained. This figure equates to approximately 20% of the current total Palestinian population within the occupied territories. Throughout the decades of this persisting conflict, Israel has illegally detained Palestinian men, women and children through an extensive and systematic set of regulations that control every aspect of Palestinian life, which restrict or deny their basic human rights. Palestinians not only live under an illegal occupation, but also under an unstable and unjust system of law and order. Awareness must be built of the inhumane treatment of the Palestinian people.

Very informative video of psychologist Kay Redfield Jamison is the author of “An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness.” In it, she reveals she suffers from manic depression, which resulted in an attempted suicide. She describes her struggle with depression whilst maintaining a professional and personal life. Is it just me or does the interviewer seem so woefully under educated on this subject? Some of the questions he is asking are shocking. Would love to hear your views on this topic :D

Hello everyone, due to recent events I think it is safe to say that 2011 has proven to be one heck of a year. From the Arab revolutions which started of in Tunisia having a domino effect across the region. To huge natural disasters across the hemisphere, drought, famine, general disgruntlement of many of the US states over wage job and rights issues which has circulated across the world demanding the end of cooperate greed, famously known as the occupy movement, The war on terror which despite the US withdrawal of troops from Iraq only seems to be intensifying, Russian street protests and the list goes on.
